Microbiology Laboratory

Minatoyoor Microbiology Lab has launched in Minatoyoor Scientific and Industrial Complex in order to conduct microbial investigations and quality control tests in livestock, poultry and aquatic feed and feedstuffs. Some of the activities of microbiology laboratory in Minatoyoor complex are: Cultivation of different types of feed and feed ingredients used in feed formulation to investigate and analyze the amount and the type of microorganisms in these materials, in order to prevent the spread of dangerous microbial contamination. Total count of microorganisms, basic investigation for salmonella (spt) detection, Preliminary consideration of coliform, Consideration for Bacteria species identification are some parameters which analyzed in this lab.

 

 

Criteria for sample acceptance:

 

-   Only non-biological samples such as feed and feed ingredients, feed supplements, concentrates and among others, would be accepted and processed.

-      All samples must be introduced by a precise identification label (code, best storage condition, production date and expire date and so forth).

-   All samples must be accompanied by a sample submission form. This documentation is needed to demonstrate the traceability of the sample is maintained throughout the receipt, testing and storage process.

-      All details about specimens includes: location of sample collecting, address, The reason for the need to do the test,  sample submission shape, cases of underestimating and overdosing consumption or poisoning, must be completely and accurately entered in the sample submission form.

-        Brand name must not be mentioned on sent sample packs.

-        The purpose of sampling and doing test must be stated in the test request form.

-       The sample submission form must be submitted in legible handwriting without any scratches.

-   Temperature sensitive samples must be transported to the laboratory in Insulation containers on frozen ice packs.

-     200-250 grams of sample is needed for the test and 200-250 grams for repeating the test.
